Do you take total beginners?

Absolutely — most of our riders start with zero experience, kids and adults alike. We start on the ground and build up at your pace. Nervous is normal; we've got you.

Do I need my own horse?

Nope. We provide a safe, suitable horse plus tack and a helmet. You just bring boots and long pants.

What should I wear and bring?

Closed-toe boots with a small heel (or sturdy closed-toe shoes to start), long pants, and hair tied back. We'll have a helmet for you. Bring water and a good attitude.

How old do riders need to be?

We teach kids and adults. Our youth after-school program is geared toward ages 8–16, but younger riders are welcome in lessons — just ask and we'll find the right fit.

How much do lessons cost?

Private lessons are $60 each ($50 for boarders and sponsors). Save with a 4-pack at $220 ($180 for boarders) or an 8-pack at $430. Youth days and summer camp are priced separately — see the Lessons page.

How long is a lesson?

About an hour. Beginners often spend a good chunk of that on the ground — learning to catch, groom, and tack — because that's real horsemanship too, not just the riding.

Do you teach Western or English?

We teach a Western, ranch-horsemanship foundation — balance, feel, and a horse that's solid to ride anywhere. It's a base that carries over no matter where you go from here.

What happens if the weather's bad?

We have a covered arena, so lessons run rain or shine — but not through lightning or dangerous heat. A lot of our horses are seasoned older partners and we take good care of them, so on those days we'll reschedule rather than push it.

What's your cancellation policy?

Life on a farm happens, so we keep it human: give us reasonable notice if you can't make it and we'll always work to reschedule. Once in a while we may have to cancel last-minute ourselves — for weather or personal reasons — and we'll get you rebooked right away. Repeated last-minute cancellations, though, may not keep getting rescheduled.

What kind of boarding do you offer, and how much?

Pasture board is $450/month — twice-daily feeding with barn grain, free-choice hay, and a hands-on check of every horse, every day. Full stall board is $750/month, with your choice of grain, hay, shavings, and fly spray. More on the Boarding page.

Will my horse really get looked at every day?

Yes — that's the whole point of this place. The same people feed, handle, and eyeball every horse, every single day. No shift workers, no guesswork.

Is there a waitlist?

Pasture spots are usually open. Stalls are limited, so they run on a waitlist — ask us and we'll tell you honestly where things stand.

What do I need to provide for my horse?

Feeding and free-choice hay are included. You keep up your own vet and farrier, and if your horse needs special feed or supplements, bring them and we'll follow your instructions to the letter.

Do boarders need vaccinations?

Yes — a current Coggins and a 5-way vaccine. It keeps every horse on the property safe, yours included.

What do you train?

Colt starting, ground manners, trailer loading, spooky or explosive behavior, and the problem horses other folks would rather not. Full training is $1,500/month with board included, in 30, 60, and 90-day programs. More on the How I Train page.

Can you fix my horse in 30 days?

Some things, yes; some need longer. We'll give you an honest timeline up front rather than rush a horse that isn't ready. Start with a free consult and we'll tell you what we see.

Do you come to us?

Yes — on-location visits and hauling are available for a per-mile fee. Text your location to (423) 607-5656 for a flat quote.

Do you charge for an evaluation?

Start with a free 20-minute consult — phone or a quick in-person chat — to see if we're a fit. A full in-person evaluation, where we handle your horse and give you a plan, is $100. No trailer? We can come to you for $1.25 a loaded mile.

Do you guarantee you'll "fix" my horse?

No honest trainer can. What we guarantee is consistent, fair work and a straight answer about your horse's progress — not miracles. If something isn't working, you'll hear it from us early.

Can I come see the place first?

Please do — we offer free farm tours by appointment. Come meet the horses and the crew and see if we're the right fit.

Where are you located?

East Tennessee. Visits are by appointment — text or call and we'll get you set up.

Do you offer summer camp or youth programs?

We do — a summer camp and an after-school program that teach grooming, tacking, riding, and real horse care. See the Summer Camp page.

Is riding safe?

Horses are animals, so there's always some inherent risk (see the Tennessee equine-liability notice below). But safety comes first here: helmets, safe school horses, and real instruction — not just pony rides.

Do you have horses to adopt or sponsor?

Sometimes, yes — we take in rehab and rescue horses. You can sponsor one for $300, pay-as-you-go, with the option to help cover vet and farrier costs. See the Get Involved page.

Do you offer horse leasing?

Possibly, for the right fit — full or partial leases come up now and then, and the cost varies with the horse and arrangement. If you're interested, ask us and we'll talk it through.
